Cookery, Excursions, Accommodation in "Real Traditional" Greece
Pyriotika and Tolo are situated in the county of the
Argolida in the Peloponnese Peninsula in Southern Greece.
The climate is warmer all year round than other parts of Greece and most
months it is possible to enjoy a coffee or breakfast outside.
The Peloponnese is famous for its wealth of archaeological and
historical sites and artifacts and in particular the Argolida
region which is home to places such as Mycenae, the AncientTheatre of Epidavros and Ancient Tiryns.
Pyriotika (5 mins) and Tolo (10 mins) are very close to
the first capital of Greece, Nafplion which is a fascinating
small city full of monuments, museums and narrow streets with
overhanging balconies. Nafplion has two beaches, Karathona and
Arvanitia, excellent choices for cooling off during the summer
months although a lot of people swim all year round.
Pyriotika is a small
traditional village with stone houses and wonderful views, it is a
quiet, peaceful place and most of the inhabitants make their living from
the land in one way or another.
Tolo is a resort
situated on the beach which is extremely well set up for tourists and
has been entertaining visitors for many years. The beach runs the length
of the village and the sea is crystal clear and shallow, perfect for
families.
